Director Miller is the former Chief of the Hammond Police Department.  During his 23 years of service with the Hammond Police Department, he worked in the patrol division, training division, detective bureau and SWAT team.

Officer Scherer

Chief Terry Scherer

Cheif Scherer joined the Campus Police Department in March, 2012.  Prior to PNC, he served on the LaPorte City Police Department for 31.5 years. He retired in January, 2012 after serving as Chief of Police. Before becoming Chief, he served in both the Patrol and Detective Divisions. Prior to LaPorte City Police, he served for 3.5 years on the Westville Police Department.  tscherer@pnc.edu

Sergeant Victor Santiago

Sergeant Santiago joined the Campus Police July 2010. Prior to PNC he was Sergeant of Patrol for Valparaiso University Campus Police 4.5 years, 19 years with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources as Head of Security at Dunes State Park and 10 years as a Porter County Sheriffs Reserve Officer.  vdsantia@pnc.edu

Walter Day

Officer Walter L. Day

Officer Day has been with the Campus Police Department since January 2, 2008, after over 31 years of service with the Michigan City Police Department, where he retired as a Corporal. He also served as Drug Abuse Resistance Education and Gang Resistance Education And Training (D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T.) Instructor and Coordinator in the Michigan City Area Schools.  wlday@pnc.edu

Vance_Thompson

Officer Vance Thompson

Officer Thompson joined the Campus Police Department in June, 2014.  Prior to PNC, he served on the Hobart Police Department for 23 years.  He retired April 30, 2014 as a Sergeant in the patrol division.  During his tenure with the Hobart Police Department, he served in Patrol, as Training Coordinator, Communications Supervisor, Deputy Chief and Acting Chief.  Prior to the Hobart Police Department, he served for 5 years with Indiana Univerisity Northwest and 3 years with the New Chicago Police Department.  vtthomps@pnc.edu

Officer William Wood

Officer Wood has been with the Campus Police since February 2015.  He served on the Gary Police Department for 26 years.  He retired January 31, 2015 as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division.  During his time at Gary PD, he served in the Narcotics Unit, Marine Unit and the Internal Affairs Division.  wood44@pnc.edu

Police Dispatcher Sue Zahn

Dispatcher Zahn has been with the Campus Police since November 2000. Zahn is a former Emergency Services Dispatcher with the Moon Twp., Pennsylvania Police Department, and a former legal and executive secretary.  szahn@pnc.edu
