Purdue University North Central (PNC) Wellness Department offers a variety of programs and services to assist employees with better total wellness. PNC faculty and staff of all ages and abilities gain awareness, knowledge, skills, and motivation that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Current & Upcoming Programs

Weight Watchers® at Work Series
Series starts Wednesday, September 24 at 11am in LSF 60

Interested in participating in Weight Watchers at PNC?  We are currently looking to start another 12 week series at PNC.  The Weight Watchers® at Work Program offers PointsPlus™ – weekly meetings, confidential weigh-ins, and support from co-workers and Weight Watchers staff.

12 Week Series Details:

  • 12 week series + 2 weeks free, plus 14 weeks of e-Tools
  • $156 per member (PNC Wellness will pay $100 towards the cost of the series, if you attend 10 out of 14 meetings and are a benefit-eligible employee.)
  • Series is open to everyone on campus.
  • Need 15 people to register to run the program.
  • The new series will be on Wednesdays with Weigh-Ins from 11:00am – 11:15am and Meetings from 11:15am and 11:45am.

PNC’s Employee Wellness, Student Activities and Purdue Federal Credit Union are teaming up to provide the PNC community a series on financial literacy.  Each month there will be a workshop on a new financial topic and be offered two times.  If you have a topic you would like to learn more about please email kgardin@pnc.edu.

At this workshop participants will learn what a credit score is and how it affects you. Also, good practices on establishing credit and rebuilding damaged credit history.

Freedom from Smoking Cessation Class
First Class starts on Tuesday, September 16 at 10am in SWRZ 60
Freedom from Smoking September 16 Registration

This FREE smoking cessation program is designed to help people learn what steps to take to “kick the tobacco habit” and stay quit.  To help people along the journey to become a nonsmoker, the first 3 classes offer tips and techniques that prepare them to quit smoking and the last 3 classes offer support.  If someone is undecided, no problem.  You may attend the 1st session and find out about the program and see if it is right for you!  The Purdue Tobacco User Premium will be waived beginning January 1, 2015 for participants who complete the program successfully and have Purdue’s medical insurance in 2015.


Stretching Your Health Care Dollars
Tuesday, September 23 at 2pm in LSF 170A

This workshop is geared towards PNC employees who have Purdue’s medical insurance.  At this workshop, you’ll learn about tools and tips to help you reduce your health care costs. There will be light refreshments served.


Nutrition Fest
Thursday, September 25 at  11am-1pm in LSF 144

Presented by Employee Wellness and Student Activities. Learn how to eat healthy on a budget, additional nutrition tips, the herb garden and there will be a cooking demonstration, too.
