Thanks for your interest in our ECET Program!
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program is a combination of courses in electricity, electronics, mathematics, science, and general academic areas leading to either a Baccalaureate or an Associate of Science degree. The program is designed to prepare students for employment as technicians in research laboratories, electronic industries and in any industry that uses electrical power or electronic controls
The curriculum provides the student with sufficient education to find employment in the fields of communications electronics, industrial electronics, military electronics, computer electronics, automation, industrial controls, electronic servicing, electrical power, aviation electronics and others. A considerable amount of laboratory work is required.
The BS-ECET Degree at Purdue North Central is the only Purdue ECET program that is accredited by ABET as both an Electrical ET and a Computer ET program. Consequently, our ECET Program is the only one in the State of Indiana that awards an ECET Degree. The others award an EET Degree. We are proud of this fact, which involves extra work for our faculty. But, since many of our graduates become computer network managers, we felt that this choice was logical.
