JoAnn Matthews

JoAnn Matthews, a December Nursing graduate, was drawn to Purdue North Central because of its world-class reputation and its variety of majors. She started as a Behavioral Sciences major, to become a social worker, but when her mother became ill, she switched to Nursing to better understand her illness and her care.

JoAnn balanced school, campus activities, work and family thanks to careful time management and successful study skills. JoAnn advises students to be prepared to learn and study in college and to not rush into a major, nor be afraid to change majors. Changing majors was a difficult decision, but today, she is happy she did.
