Jaime Woods, Valparaiso
- 2007 B.S. in Business, with a concentration in
Accounting
- Jaime graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade-point
average.
“I am extremely proud of that. I chose my major
because I am really good at math and numbers and I enjoy
working with anything that is structured and organized,
which is what accounting is based upon. The entire business
and corporate world is completely fascinating to me
and I can not wait to become involved in it after graduation.”
As a student, Jaime worked part time at JP Morgan
Chase bank. She aspires to be an internal auditor for
a corporation or become involved in the emerging fraud
investigation field for the government.
Jaime decided to attend PNC because it was close to
home, and that convenience would allow her to continue
to work. Plus, she found the PNC Department of Business
to be excellent at helping students achieve their goals.
As a student, Jaime faced some challenges - working
33 hours a week, attending PNC and living on her own.
She credits her mother as being her source of constant
encouragement for me, “She has always helped me
to keep balanced between work and school,” said
Jaime.
Today Jaime is quick to recommend PNC to prospective
students. “PNC offers smaller class sizes, which
I feel are beneficial to the learning process. PNC supports
its students in any way it can whether through interesting
classes, campus activities, advisors or teachers. If
a student has the desire to learn and receive a degree,
PNC is the best place to be..PNC kept me completely
engaged in learning and I will remember my experiences
there for years to come.
In the future, Jaime plans to earn her MBA. She also
wants to work toward her certified fraud examiner (CFE)
and certified managerial accountant (CMA) licenses.
