English & Modern Languages Scholarships
John J. Stanfield Scholarship
This fund was established in May 1987 with gifts in honor of John J.
Stanfield. Specific Endowment Agreement Criteria includes:
- Student must be an English major at the Purdue North Central
campus.
- Student must be of sophomore standing or above.
- Student must express intent to earn the undergraduate degree in
English at Purdue University North Central.
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Selena M. Taliaferro Memorial Scholarship
This fund was established in December 2002 with a gift by John F. and Jean
H. Hoffner in memory of Jean's mother. Recipients must have financial need, past community service, and at
least a 3.0 grade point average. This
scholarship is renewable.
Henry Sokolowski Restricted Gift
This fund provides up to two scholarships annually to students studying in
Purdue University North Central’s Department of Modern Languages.
Virginia Muhleman Brelje Memorial Scholarship
This fund was established in April 2001 with gifts by H. William Brelje and
others in memory of Virginia Muhleman Brelje. This scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and the
students' dedication and commitment to writing and/or the study of
literature.
