Academic Courses to Assist Students
Perhaps it's been a while since high school, or maybe the material you learned feels like ancient history. Whatever the reason, you may need to brush up on basic subjects before beginning studies toward a degree. Purdue North Central offers several courses that can help you bridge the education gap and succeed in your university career:
- Fundamentals of Algebra (GNC 064)
- Plane Geometry (GNC 065)
- Reading Enhancement (GNC 071)
- College Success (GNC 100)
- English Composition (ENGL 100)
- Algebra (MA 111)
Purdue North Central reviews each student's academic background to determine if the PNC Assessment test is necessary. Students may always choose to take specific tests if they are unsure of their ability, and students that graduated in the lower half of their high school class, or have a GED will be required to take the Placement Tests.
The department also provides a place where students not yet committed to a specific program of study can sample and examine various offerings and receive academic advice regarding future educational goals.
