Interest groups within PNCWA welcome members with shared hobbies and interests. These groups offer members unique opportunities for friendship, sharing, and learning. The Interest Group Fair at the Fall Luncheon allows all interested persons the opportunity to meet the chairperson of each group, to see group meeting schedules, and to sign up to participate. If you would like to join one of the interest groups below, please contact the appropriate chairperson listed.  Membership in PNCWA is required prior to joining an interest group.

GARDENING/NATURE
Co-Chairs: Joan Wisniewski, 785-2765, wisniews2@yahoo.com
and Susan Bagby, 872-7126, srbagby@yahoo.com

The Nature/Gardening Interest Group meets April through August to monitor fourteen bluebird houses on the Westville campus. Members alternate weeks to gather and check the progress at each of the houses and record their findings to share with PNCWA and with the Potawatomi Audubon Society. New members are always welcome and are paired with more experienced birders to learn how to identify not only birds, but the differences in nests and eggs. By monitoring the bluebird houses, we enjoy a leisurely walk around the beautiful campus and also help our feathered friends.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
Co-Chairs: Liz Depew, 785-5239, edepew@pnc.edu
and Ella Taylor, 785-5531, etaylor@pnc.edu

We are a new Interest Group formed within the Purdue North Central Women's Association (PNCWA). Our group was formed so females of all ages could get together, socialize, network, raise funds for charity and just have fun! Check out our Girls Just Wanna Have Fun blog site at http://www.pncwagirlsjustwannahavefun.blogspot.com/ .

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP GROUP
Chair: Martha Garcia-Saenz, 785-5522, mgarcia@pnc.edu

The International Friendship Group gathers to celebrate women as they share culture, traditions, and friendship. Local residents, who have emigrated to the U.S., share stories of their home countries and traditions and talk about life in the United States. Light refreshments are served with each program.

SEW-BEE-IT QUILTERS
Chair: Lynne Reglein, 926-5587, lreglein@msn.com

Sew-Bee-It was formed to foster the art of quilting and to encourage, through education, a high standard of design and technique of quilting's various forms. Our quilters represent the largest of the women's interest groups, and members have been attracted from all surrounding cities and rural areas. A mentoring program is in place to encourage new quilters and support existing quilters with their projects. At each meeting, members demonstrate techniques and share challenges. Our diversity of quilting fundamentals and expertise contribute to the ingenuity and growth of the individual's experience. As a group, we make and donate quilts for community projects such as young mothers, Spring Valley Shelter in Valparaiso, Pioneer Land in La Porte, and the Chesterton Resale Shop for the Relay for Life. We also encourage others to join us for our All-Day Quilt Sews for Charity held twice a year.
