Plan of Study for Pre-Nursing Students

Semester 1

BIOL 213: Human Anatomy & Physiology
CHEM 119: General Chemistry
ENGL 101: English Composition I
MATH 111: Algebra or higher Math
GS 191: Freshman Year Experience

Semester 2

BIOL 214: Human Anatomy & Physiology
BIOL 221: Intro to Microbiology
ENGL 102: English Composition II
F&N 303: Essentials of Nutrition
PSY 120: Elementary Psychology

Additional Requirements for Nursing

Students are required to have:

  • Health examinations and immunizations
  • CPR certification
  • Criminal background check
  • Urine drug screen
  • Liability insurance on file prior to beginning a practicum course

Enrollment Limitations

Meeting the requirements for acceptance into pre-nursing does not guarantee admission into the Nursing program. Enrollment is competitive and space is limited. Selection of students is made by the Department of Nursing and Health Studies and is based on established criteria, including level of academic performance and success probability.
