The 60th season of the Purdue University North Central Sinai Forum will conclude with Margaret I. Cuomo, M.D. discussing, “A World Without Cancer” on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m., CT, at Elston Middle School, 317 Detroit St., in Michigan City.
Cuomo is the author of the book, “A World Without Cancer: The Making of a New World and the Real Promise of Prevention,” which is based on her first-hand experiences with cancer patients. Her book has been described as “an eye-opening look at the way we fight cancer.”
As a radiologist specializing in cancer, Cuomo will provide the Forum audience with valuable insight into the “cancer industry” and will present a provocative look at how profit, personalities and politics obstruct progress toward prevention of the disease and what must be done in order to find a cure.
A book signing will follow. This program is sponsored by Duneland Health Council.
The 2013 Forum season is sponsored by The Franciscan Alliance Northern Indiana Hospitals, including Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Michigan City and Crown Point, Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer and Hammond and Franciscan Physicians Hospital in Munster.
