PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Prepare students for leadership positions as managers in a variety of organizational settings,
allowing them to assume positions of new or greater managerial responsibility in core business processes
- Accommodate students from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds such as social and natural
sciences, arts and humanities, and from professional fields such as business, engineering, education and nursing.
- Allow students who are currently employed and intend to pursue the MBA while continuing to
work full-time to complete the program within a reasonable time without sacrificing the quality of the program.
PROGRAM FORMAT
The program is offered on Saturdays at Purdue North Central – Porter County and is organized in 10 week
modules. The modules will begin in October. The first term ends at least a week before Christmas. Some courses meet each Saturday for 10 weeks, while others make use of distance learning technologies and will meet 5-8 times.
TIME TO COMPLETE PROGRAM
Students normally take two courses each
module and can complete eight courses each year.
Students in the 36 Hour Track will be able to complete the 12 courses required in six
modules over 18
months.
Students in the 45 Hour Track will be able to complete the 15 courses required in eight
modules over 24
months.
TUITION AND FEES
Tuition and Program Fees for 2009-2010
for Indiana residents will be approximately $280.55 per credit
hour or $841.65 for each course. Out of state residents should contact the Bursar’s Office for fee information.
Students in the MBA Program are eligible for federally subsidized and unsubsidized (alternative) loans
which are sufficient to cover the costs of the program. Other financial aid may be available. Contact the
financial aid office at PNC for further information.
PROGRAM TRACKS
There are two tracks in the MBA program: the 36 Hour Track and the 45 Hour Track.
The 36 Hour Track
Students with a strong undergraduate preparation in Business are required to complete 36 credit hours. The 36 hour program consists of the Core Courses -- eight courses that provide the tools and insights needed to manage effectively -- as well as four additional courses that will address specific topics of relevance to a career in management.
To be admitted to the 36 hour track, an applicant must have earned a Bachelors degree in Business or a
closely related area of study which included courses that were substantially equivalent to those of a
Bachelors degree in Business.
Coursework expected in a Bachelors Degree in Business:
• 6 hours of economics
• 6 hours of accounting
• 3 hours of financial management
• 3 hours of marketing
• 3 hours of business law
• 3 hours of organizational behavior
• 6 hours of quantitative methods
• 6 hours of college-level mathematics

The 45 Hour Track
Students who lack the prior academic study in business normally must complete 45 credit hours. They
begin the program with seven Foundation Courses, which provide the background necessary for the eight Core Courses.

APPLICATION AND ADMISSION
In order to be admitted to
the Purdue North Central MBA Program, a student must:
- Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally
accredited college or university:
- Students whose native language is not English
must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language
(TOEFL) and score at least 550.
Applicants are also asked to submit the following information:
- Official transcripts from any previous college or
university;
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores
A candidate that does not meet admission standards
may be granted conditional entry into the program, which
involves:
- Writing a "Statement of Purpose" which would be
supervised and evaluated by an MBA faculty member at
an "on campus" location.
- After conditional admission, maintaining a "B"
average during the first 12 hours (four courses) of
the MBA Program, with no more than one "C" during
this time.
Students need to demonstrate a basic level of
familiarity with mathematics prior to being admitted.
Students who lack this background may be admitted to the
program with the understanding that they will take an
appropriate course. Prospective students should contact
the Admission Coordinator for the MBA Program to
determine if their academic background is sufficient to
meet the Mathematics requirement.
Selection of candidates will
be based upon information from official transcripts,
GMAT scores, and as necessary TOEFL scores.

THE GRADUATE MANAGEMENT ADMISSIONS TEST (GMAT)

Test Fee: The fee to take the Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®) is U.S. $250.
The preferred forms of payment are: credit card, money order/certified check, U.S. Postal Money Order or
an international money order.
The GMAT is administered by computer at special Test Sites referred to as "Prometric Testing Centers."
The sites closest to locations in North Central Indiana are:

The GMAT is offered on various days each week. The schedule varies and most sites offer the exam on
