OFF-CAMPUS   ACCESS

PNC databases can be accessed by PNC students, faculty, and staff from off-campus. Logon will require your last name and a password which is your Purdue Identification Number.

Guests may use some resources from campus locations only.

What is your Purdue University ID Number?

Each student and staff member affiliated with Purdue is assigned a University identification number.  In most cases your identification number is your Social Security number but you have an option to select a different number.

Any student or staff member has the right to request that a unique identification number be issued or they may use their Social Security Number. Using a unique University ID number may be beneficial in that you will not need to transmit your Social Security number over the campus network to authenticate yourself.   Access to your Library loan records and  Libraries' databases are two examples where you will need this number.

Students will need to go to the Registration office in room 40 of Schwartz Building and request that a ‘999' number be issued.  Students will be given a corrected schedule with the new ID number on it.

Faculty and staff will also need to go to the Registrar's office in room 40 of Schwartz Building and request that a ‘888' number be issued.
