Honors Program for Current PNC Students

The Honors Program began at PNC in fall of 2011, focusing on entering students so as to grow the program gradually. Current students should know that because the program is new, there are not yet a great number of honors courses available, which might make it difficult to achieve the required four honors courses to graduate with university honors. Click here for current and planned courses.

The Honors Program has yearly requirements and graduation requirements. Each year you are in the program, you will

  • Meet monthly with your honors faculty mentor to plan your future at PNC and beyond
  • Attend at least four honors events, where you’ll meet scholars, artists, intellectuals and accomplished citizens from northwest Indiana and around the country
  • Take at least one honors class

You will have successfully completed a year of honors work if you fulfill these requirements, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA overall and earn at least a B in your honors course. Each year that you fulfill the Honors Program yearly requirements you will receive credit on your transcript for university honors that year, even if you do not ultimately graduate with University Honors.

To graduate with University Honors, you must fulfill the above yearly requirements for each year you are in the program, and you must complete at least 12 credit hours of honors course work with a grade of B or better in each honors course.
