 Travel Study:

Purdue University North Central’s travel study programs provide dynamic, unique learning opportunities to students, allowing them to engage in their studies through experiential learning at one or more destinations that are closely tied to the content of their course.

The role of the Office of Graduate and Extended Learning (GEL) in travel study programs is to coordinate limited resources in an efficient manner and ensure that the program is managed in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures. GEL provides the extensive logistical, budgetary, and program management support for all travel study programs while the academic content and quality of the programs are the primary focus of the sponsoring department and the individual(s) who teach and/or lead the courses. The sponsoring department and Program Leader(s) are also responsible for marketing the program to students.

Travel Study Program Application Deadline: A minimum of a twelve to eighteen month planning period and a strict budget is required when planning all travel study programs. Marketing and implementation of travel study courses requires significantly more lead time than most traditional or special courses taught on campus.
