Loan Programs
Even if you do not qualify for a federal or state grant, virtually every student is eligible for some form of student loan. Again, you must complete the FAFSA to determine what kind of loan you qualify for. Then you will complete a loan request form and submit it to the financial aid office. In general, payment on loans will be deferred as long as you are attending college at least half-time (6 credit hours). Some loans do require interest payments while you are a student; others defer interest as well as principal.

Federal Family Education Loans (FFEL)

Work-Study Program
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study. If you work on campus, you'll usually work for PNC. If you work off campus, your employer will usually be a private nonprofit organization or a public agency, and the work performed must be in the public interest. The amount you earn can't exceed your total Federal Work-Study award and once again, the FAFSA must be completed to determine eligibility. When assigning work hours, your employer or financial aid administrator will consider your award amount, your class schedule, and your academic progress. Work-study applications are available online or in the financial aid office.

PNC School Code: 001826

Note: Male citizens of the U.S. and male immigrant aliens 18 through 25 years old must be registered with the U.S. Selective Service to be eligible for federal student aid. Men can register at any post office, or register now online.
