Financial Aid - Forms

Loan Default Resolution

The Financial Aid Office at Purdue University North Central will request this documentation only if it is needed to complete your financial aid file.

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) indicates that you are in DEFAULT on one or more federal student loans. You are not eligible to receive any federal student aid until you resolve any loan default(s).

Instructions:

  1. Refer to your Student Aid Report (SAR) on the FAFSA website, call the Department of Education at 1-800-4FEDAID, call Debt Collection Services at 1-800-621-3115 or contact the servicing center which is reporting a defaulted student loan for instructions on how to resolve your defaulted loan.
  2. Once the defaulted loan is resolved please provide The Financial Aid Office with one of the appropriate forms of documentation from the guarantee or collection agency.

Appropriate documentation consists of:

  • Loan paid in full (including consolidation)
  • Satisfactory repayment arrangement
  • Rehabilitation of loan

Important: Remember to include your PUID and name on all documentation submitted to the Financial Aid Office at Purdue University North Central.
