Important News

The summer term is underway and many people have questions regarding some of our policies and processes.

  1. All financial aid, including Pell Grants, SEOG Grants, part-time O’Bannon Awards and all Stafford loans MUST BE SPLIT into two payments over the summer term.  The disbursement dates are assigned based on the parts of term the student is enrolled in.  For example, a student enrolled in both the S3 term and S4 term would be disbursed half on the first day of the S3 term, May 7, in this case, and the second disbursement would be set for the half-way point of the second term, which is July 6.  If a student is enrolled over multiple terms, the aid is disbursed on the first day of the first term and then on the latest date of the second disbursement of the terms.
  2. Students who have transferred in either for the spring semester and are also attending summer semester and transfers in for the summer only are special cases when it comes to calculating their aid.  In addition to the work up done considering the aid received here at PNC, the Financial Aid Office must also get an aid history for the entire year to insure there are no over awards for the summer term.  We thank you for your patience and consideration in this process – we are only trying to serve you, our students, the best way we can.
  3. Because some of our processes have changed due to federal regulations, the Financial Aid Office has encountered some challenges in preparing your aid for summer.  We hope to have all enrolled students’ aid eligibility evaluated very shortly.
  4. Be sure to check your self-service Banner account regularly for messages and information related to not only your summer aid but many other issues that affect your attendance at PNC.
  5. As always, please contact our Enrollment Services Office in Tech 157 or at finaid@pnc.edu with any questions you may have regarding your financial aid.

Submit your 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov!

Students who missed the March 10, 2012 priority FAFSA filing deadline will still be considered for Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Student Loan eligibility.

The Purdue North Central Financial Aid Staff wants to be sure that no student is denied higher education simply because they cannot afford to attend.

Over one half (63%) of PNC students take advantage of some $15 million in Financial Aid awarded annually. Financial Aid is made available through grants and scholarships, as well as loan and work-study programs.

The first step in the Financial Aid process is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Each January the new FAFSA forms are available for the following academic year. To be considered for state grants your FAFSA should be completed by March 1 to ensure it is received by the annual March 10 deadline as established by the State Student Assistance Commission for Indiana (SSACI).

If you have questions, we're only a click, call, or visit away.
