A Career in Electrical Engineering

Demand for technical personnel with knowledge and skills at the baccalaureate level continues to increase in Indiana and across the United States. The Jobweb.com web site lists electrical engineering among the top ten degrees in demand by industry. In addition, the state wide ranking of job priorities, as given in the Hoosier Hot 50 Jobs report, ranks electrical and computer engineering jobs in the top three positions and in position number fifteen.

Program Overview

The Electrical Engineering curriculum stresses the core objectives of electrical engineering by building on mathematics and physical sciences to study power systems, microprocessors, electronics, fields and waves, and more.

Electrical engineering graduates find jobs in technical and/or managerial positions in local engineering companies. Typical entry-level position titles include electrical engineer, product engineer, test engineer and quality assurance engineer.
