SEA meeting notes September 29, 2005
We are going to be selling cookie dough tubs- we want to sell them mid-end November so they are in by the holidays.
Book orders are in. You can start picking them up on Tuesday November 4, 2005.
We will only be having one more formal SEA meeting. After that we will be having professional development workshops. The first one is going to be “English as a new language.” For students the admission is going to be $15.00, and $20.00 for principals and administrators.
We are going to be holding a supply drive for the hurricane Katrina evacuees. We want to gather supplies and give them to the evacuees who have relocated up here in the area. They are now located at the entrances of the buildings. We want to collect school supplies, coats, anything that can help them get accustomed up here. You can drop them off at the boxes or in the education office.
The next book orders are due on October 14.
Fall Frenzy is going to take place at Jackie Covault’s house on October 15. There is going to be a bonfire with food.
We are now selling lanyards. They start at $2.00 and go up from there.
We are also selling coupon books for Carson’s. They are for Community Day on November 19, 2005. We keep all of the money that is made from selling these.
There are several things that we are going to be doing with the money this year.
We are going to be giving books to needy schools in the area.
We are also going to be participating in the “Bring a Book to Breakfast.” This is going to take place on January 16 at 7:30. We are hoping to get a children’s choir to entertain the guests. SEA is going to be involved in the collection of the books and giving the books to the needy schools, libraries, etc. in the area. We are also going to be having a jar so people can donate money if they do not bring books. The books can be “gently” used or new.
We are going to be sending out an email with the options of workshops. You are to pick your favorites and email back to the SEA members.
Check your e-mail often for future updates and meetings. __________________________________
