·         Limited Criminal History Reports are required throughout the teacher education program for field experiences and a report will be required for licensing.

·         Purdue University North Central will check Zachary's Law Registry periodically.

·         The Indiana Division of Professional Standards will review misdemeanor/felony convictions.

This requires: completing the Teacher Education application, passing scores on each PRAXIS I test, a cumulative gpa of at least 2.5, a professional gpa of at least 2.8, and successful completion of Block I, which includes field experience evaluations with indicators at the appropriate developmental level, key assignments completed at “Basic” level or above, and an acceptable portfolio.

1.       Grades of A or B in EDCI 311, EDCI 362, EDCI 363

2.       Statement of intent, which includes why you want to participate in this program and why you believe you should be accepted into it.

3.       One letter of recommendation from a PNC Reading faculty member.

4.       One letter of recommendation from a current classroom teacher.

5.       Coursework: EDCI 408 – Advanced Literacy Instruction, EDCI 409 – Student Teaching Seminar in Literacy
