READING ADDITION TO THE UNDERGRADUATE

ELEMENTARY EDUCATION TEACHING LICENSE

The Reading Addition may be added to a Rules 2002 license. With this addition to the K-6 license, you will be qualified to teach in a Title I or reading resource classroom.  In order to add this to your license you will need to submit an application which you may obtain by clicking on the link below.  Other requirements include:

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATION : MARCH 15, 2012

• Completion of EDCI 31100, 36200, and 36300 earning a B or higher.  Candidates currently enrolled in EDCI 36300 may conditionally apply before the course is completed if all other requirements are met.

• Statement of intent which includes why you want to participate in this program and why you believe you should be accepted into it.

• Taking EDCI 40800 - Advanced Literacy Instruction.

• Taking EDCI 40900 - Student Teaching Seminar in Literacy during your student teaching semester.            

Applications must be submitted and approved before registration in EDCI 40800 is allowed.
