Current Outstanding Issues: Last modified on September 11, 2012

Activity Tracking in BB Learn is inconsistent: It has been identified that the activity tracking function in Blackboard Learn is not accurately tracking student activity in Learn.  It is suspected that if students are accessing your Learn course via a tablet, iPad or other mobile device that this may be the cause.  West Lafayette is currently looking into a solution for this issue.  At this time, we recommend that you inform students NOT to use tablets, iPads, etc. to take exams or quizzes in Learn, but rather recommend that they use a desktop or laptop computer.

VISTA courses are STILL created:  If you have requested to teach in Learn this fall, make sure to redirect your students to their Learn created courses.

Password Issue: Blackboard Learn authenticates through West Lafayette so if you are unable to log in to Learn, you may need to change your password (they are on a 30-day password change cycle- and this may not affect everyone).

Preferred browser: Currently, Blackboard Learn and VISTA are more compatible with Firefox than Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. When in Blackboard Learn, make sure you are using Firefox and we recommend informing your students to do the same. However, when uploading files into VISTA, if you do NOT see the 'My computer' option when browsing for a file, log out and try another browser (such as Internet Explorer).

Email:  As of August 21, it appears that the below email issue has been fixed.

Due to some  issues with how West Lafayette was processing students, certain students in Learn were not receiving their emails that were sent through Blackboard Learn. This was because certain students were entered with a @purdue.edu address and others have the @pnc.edu address.  This issue appears to be resolved and you should have no problems utilizing the email tool within Blackboard Learn.

Time difference:  Blackboard Learn operates on Eastern time (EST). Make sure you communicate this to your students, for this may affect assignment deadlines and assessment time windows.
