DISCOVER Career Exploration
DISCOVER Online is a career exploration program. This program is available for use by students through any computer with an Internet connection.
Use of the DISCOVER Career Planning Program is strongly recommended for all students. Whether you have declared a major and career path and are an upperclassman, or you are just beginning as a freshman and undecided about your major and future career, your use of DISCOVER will be very helpful.
DISCOVER is based on a personal inventory evaluation of your interests, abilities, and values. The results of these inventories will generate a list of occupations, as well as majors, that are a good match for you.
It is to your advantage to make an appointment for your initial introduction into the system and for interpretation of your personal inventories. You will then be instructed on how to use the program quickly and easily in order to gain the information you are most interested in. The length of your visit depends on your personal needs and requests.
This FREE program is offered through the Dean of Students' Office. A USER ID# is required to gain access to the program. This is obtained by contacting Allana Burke, DISCOVER coordinator at aburke@pnc.edu or 219-785-5284. To fully understand your results and receive personal instruction in using the program, a one hour appointment is encouraged. Making a wise, informed choice now will affect your future plans.
