How do I set up an appointment?
For the most effective use of DISCOVER, talk with Allana Burke, DISCOVER Coordinator. She can make sure that DISCOVER is the appropriate tool to use for your exploration. Make the appointment by calling (219) 785-5284 or emailing aburke@pnc.edu .
How much does it cost?
FREE! There is no cost to use DISCOVER.
How long does it take?
Initial sessions are booked for one hour.
What do I need to bring back to the DISCOVER Coordinator?
Print all summaries and bring them with you to your appointment.
What should I expect to get out of using the DISCOVER program?
With the assistance of the DISCOVER Coordinator, the desired outcomes of DISCOVER are to:
- Identify personal interests, abilities and work-related values
- Identify feasible occupational choices which relate to interests, abilities, values and desired characteristics.
- Better understand the World of Work.
- Obtain sufficient, high-quality information about alternatives so that options can be prioritized.
- Guide students through a planful, decision-making process.
- Develop a sense of self-efficacy; that is, the idea that students can be in control of their own decision making.
At the end of the session, you will receive an ID number that will allow you to access the program from home.
