As the director of the sSs program, Juan has oversight and management of Student Support Services. He is the key spokesperson for the sSs program. Juan also facilitates various workshops, assists participants in leadership development activities, serves on several university committees along with a variety of other activities geared toward our participants academic success.
Juan currently is the President Elect of Indiana TRIO and serves as a board member on the Mid America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personal (MAEOPP)
Juan received his Bachelor of Arts/Socially in 1998 and his Master of Science in Education /Human Services degree from Purdue University Calumet in 2008. He was also a participant of the TRIO Student Support Services program while present there. Juan possesses a passion for assisting students attain their goals. He believes strongly in the ability of all students to succeed with determination, hard work, institutional resources, and academic and personal support. |

| The Academic Coordinator assists sSs students in various areas to help them succeed in college, persist toward graduation, and graduate. I provide academic counseling, career counseling, study skills, plus other needs geared toward a student’s academic success. I also coordinate the one-on-one tutoring program in sSs. |

| I have many different secretarial job tasks but the one I enjoy most is sharing with students, parents, instructors, and anyone else who will listen about why TRiO Student Support Services (sSs) is such a wonderful program. It is always a good day when an sSs student puts on his or her cap and gown knowing how much effort and energy it took to achieve that goal. |
