You may be familiar with "free" web-based email accounts that are available these days. Your student email account is similar to those in many good ways, and dissimilar in many better ways.

• It is available from any internet-connected web browser in the world.
• It provides access to an address book of all faculty and students on campus.
• It does not have advertisements.
• It does not send advertisements to your friends.
• It does have brief notices about what is happening on campus.
• It is linked to a database available to your faculty which gives them an easy way to communicate with you when you are not on campus.
• It is integrated with your P.N.C. (Personal Network Credential) - the same user name and password that provides all other campus services provides access to your email account.
• It is a secure site.
