Benefit-eligible employees, retirees and their spouses/same-sex domestic partners (ssdp) may receive one free basic screening per calendar year.

An HRA (Health Risk Appraisal) will be available after the completion of your screening. This HRA will be offered on-line via CIGNA. In order to take the HRA you must log into the mycigna.com web site. Only those employees and dependents currently on Purdue's medical plan will be able to take the online HRA.

ALL RESULTS WILL BE MAILED TO YOUR HOME!

AVAILABLE SCREENINGS COST

Basic Screening* includes:

  • Lipid Panel: Includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, HDL
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): Glucose, 13 other blood chemistries used to screen for kidney and liver diseases.
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC): Examines different parts of the blood; a blood screening test to check for such disorders as anemia, infection, and many other diseases.
  • Blood Pressure/Pulse
  • Height/Weight/Waist Circumference/Body Mass Index
FREE once per calendar year to PNC benefit-eligible employees, retirees, and their spouses/ssdp.
Others: $30
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA):Blood test used to screen and monitor prostate health.
FREE once per calendar year to PNC benefit-eligible male employees & retirees 50+ year. old.
Others: $24
ColoCare Kit (take home hemoccult kit): Determines if there is any hidden occult bleeding caused by gastrointestinal diseases. (Colon-Rectal)
FREE once per calendar year to PNC benefit-eligible employees & retirees.

Thyroid Profile (T3, T4 and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone ( TSH)):
T3: Helpful in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism.
T4: Helpful in the evaluation of thyroid gland function; to help diagnose hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
(TSH): Used to screen for and diagnose thyroid disorders; also used to monitor treatment for hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.

Bone Density Screening:
Please Note: This screening is only taking place on Wednesday, October 17 from 7-11am.

HbA1C*: Used to monitor a person's diabetes and to aid in treatment decisions; to screen for and/or diagnose diabetes and pre-diabetes.

C-Reactive Protein: hs-CRP: Used to identify the presence of inflammation, to determine its severity, and to monitor response to treatment. May be used to predict heart disease. Individuals are categorized by risk level (of developing heart disease) based on their hs-CRP. Levels <1.0 mg/L are low risk, 1-3 mg/L are average risk and >3 mg/L are high risk.

Heart Cart Screening Package: Offers a comprehensive picture of one's cardiovascular health. The screening tests for: abnormal heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysm, stroke, carotid artery, and poor leg circulation. By accompanying these tests with the fasting cholesterol and glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight from the basic onsite screening, they are able to denote risk for metabolic syndrome and heart disease. Please Note: This screening is only taking place on October 16 & 17 from 7-11am. You must be participating in the Basic Screening to do this.
