GATE system for Elementary Education Program Majors

The elementary education program at Purdue University North Central believes very strongly in continually improving standards for acceptance and continuation in the program.  Along with feedback from our shareholders, the requirements and checkpoints have been altered slightly several times.  Please make sure to select the correct group you belong to.  Please see Bianca at bvillarr@pnc.edu if you have any questions about your GATE requirements.

Successful completion of Praxis I and Praxis II will be required prior to program completion.  All students are encouraged to complete the state licensing test requirements prior to student teaching.  The gate system provides critical checkpoints ensuring candidates will be better prepared to teach K-6 students.  This system also ensures that Purdue University North Central candidates can be licensed in Indiana.
