Blackboard Vista - Mail

Information Services Links

Create Folder

  1. Select the Mail option inder the Course Tools.
  2. Select the Create Folder button.
  3. Enter a name.
  4. Select the Create button.

Create Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools..
  2. Select the Create Message button.
  3. Select the Browse for Recipients... button.
  4. Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired names.
  5. Select the Save button.
  6. Enter a Subject: information.
  7. Enter Message: information.
  8. If you do not need to attach files to your message, skip down to step 13.
  9. Select the Add Attachments button.
  10. If the desired files have already been uploaded into your file manager, select the check mark box next to the desired files. Click the OK button. Skip down to step 12.
  11. If the desired files have not been uploaded into your file manager, select the My Computer icon.Locate your file or multiple files. Then select the file(s) (you can hold the Control key or Shift key to select multiple files) and select the Open button.
  12. All files that you have successfully attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
  13. To send, select the Send button.

Copy Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the desired message.
  3. Select the - Move to: - drop-down list.
  4. Select the desired location within the Copy to: drop-down list.
  5. Select the green Go icon next to the Copy to: drop-down list.

Delete Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the desired message.
  3. Select the Delete button.

Delete Folder

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the ActionLInks located to the right of the folder you desire to delete.
  3. Select the Delete button.
  4. Click the OK button to confirm the delete.

Forward Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools..
  2. Select the desired message subject.
  3. Select the Forward button.
  4. Select the Browse for Recipients... button.
  5. Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired names.
  6. Select the Save button.
  7. Enter a Subject: information.
  8. Enter Message: information.
  9. If you do not need to attach files to your message, skip down to step 15.
  10. Select the Add Attachments button.
  11. Select the My Computer icon. Pop-up window will appear.
  12. Locate the desired file.
  13. Double-click the desired file. File will appear in your My Files.
  14. If you need to attach another file, repet steps 10 - 13. All files that you have successfully attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
  15. Select the Send button.

Move Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the desired message.
  3. Select the - Move to: - drop-down list.
  4. Select the desired location within the Move to: drop-down list.
  5. Select the green Go icon next to the Move to: drop-down list.

Print Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the subject of the desired message. Message appears in a separate pop-up window.
  3. Select the Print button.
  4. If applicable, select desired print options.
  5. Select the Print button.
  6. Once printing has completed, close the printable view pop-up window.

Reply to Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools..
  2. Select the desired message subject.
  3. Select the Reply or Reply to All button.
  4. If you do not ned to select additional recipients, skip down to 8.
  5. Select the Browse for Recipients... button.
  6. Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired names.
  7. Select the Save button.
  8. Enter a Subject: information.
  9. Enter Message: information.
  10. If you do not need to attach files to your message, skip down to step 16.
  11. Select the Add Attachments button.
  12. Select the My Computer icon. Pop-up window will appear.
  13. Locate the desired file.
  14. Double-click the desired file. File will appear in your My Files.
  15. If you need to attach another file, repet steps 11 - 14. All files that you have successfully attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
  16. Select the Send button.

View Message

  1. Select the Mail option under the Course Tools.
  2. Select the subject of the desired message. Message appears in a separate pop-up window.
  3. Read message.
  4. If files are attached, select on the attachments to view them.
  5. Close message pop-up window (s).

Note

  • To preview a message that you are either creating, replying to, or forwarding, select the Preview button.
  • To save and come back to a message that you are either creating, replying to, or forwarding, select the Save as Draft button.
