Blackboard Vista - Mail

Compile and Print Message
- Verify that you are on either the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired subjects.
- Select the Create Printable View button.
- Select the Print button.
- If applicable, select desired print options.
- Once printing has completed, close create printable view
pop-up window.
Compile and Save Message to
File
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired subjects.
- Select the Create Printable View button.
- Select the Save as File button.
- Save file to desired location.
- Close create printable view pop-up window.
Copy Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs. .
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired subjects.
- Select the - Copy to: - drop-down list.
- Select the desired location from within the drop-down
list.
- Select the green "go" arrow next to the box.
Create Folder
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the Create Folder button.
- Enter a name.
- Select the Create button.
Create Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the Create Message button.
- Select the Browse for Recipients... button.
- Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired
names.
- Select the Save button.
- Enter a Subject: information.
- Enter Message: information.
- If you do not need to attach files to
your message, skip down to step 14.
- Select the Add Attachments button.
- If the desired files have already been
uploaded into your file manager, select the
check mark box next to the desired files. Click the OK button. Skip down to step 13.
- If the desired files have not been uploaded into your file manager, select the My Computer icon.Locate your file or multiple files. Then select the file(s) (you can hold the Control key or Shift key to select multiple files) and
select the Open button.
- All files that you have successfully
attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
- To send, select the Send
button.
Delete Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired subjects.
- Select the Delete button.
Forward
Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the message subject to open the message.
- Select the Forward button.
- Select the Browse for Recipients button....
- Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired
names.
- Select the Save button.
- If desired, enter a message.
- If you do not need to attach files to
your message, skip down to step 14.
- Select the Add Attachments button.
- If the desired files have already been
uploaded into your file manager, select the
check mark box next to the desired files. Click the OK button. Skip down to step 13.
- If the desired files have not been uploaded into your file manager, select the My Computer icon.Locate your file or multiple files. Then select the file(s) (you can hold the Control key or Shift key to select multiple files) and
select the Open button.
- All files that you have successfully
attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
- To send, select the Send button.
Move Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired message.
- Select the - Move to: - drop-down list.
- Select the desired location from within the Move to: drop-down
list.
- Select the green Go icon next to the Move to: drop-down
list.
Print
Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the message subject.
- Select the Print button.
- If applicable, select desired print options.
- Once printing has completed, close view message pop-up
window.
Reply to
Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the message subject.
- Select the Reply or Reply to All button.
- If you do not need to select additional recipients, skip
down to step 8.
- Select the To, CC or BCC checkbox next to the desired
names.
- Select the Save button.
- Enter the message.
- If you do not need to attach files to
your message, skip down to step 14.
- Select the Add Attachments button.
- If the desired files have already been
uploaded into your file manager, select the
check mark box next to the desired files. Click the OK button. Skip down to step 13.
- If the desired files have not been uploaded into your file manager, select the My Computer icon.Locate your file or multiple files. Then select the file(s) (you can hold the Control key or Shift key to select multiple files) and
select the Open button.
- All files that you have successfully
attached will display below the Add Attachments button.
- To send, select the Send button.
View Message
- Verify that you are on the Teach or Build tabs.
- Select the Mail link on the Course Toolbar.
- Select the message subject.
- Read message.
- If files are attached, select on the attachments to view
them.
- Close message pop-up window (s).
Note...
- To preview a message that you are either creating,
replying to, or forwarding, select the Preview
button.
- To save and come back to a message that you are either
creating, replying to, or forwarding, select the Save as
Draft button.
