Discover the splendor of the most rugged mountains in Appalachia! The Great Smoky Mountains preserve a rich cultural tapestry of Southern Appalachian history. This extraordinary travel/study course brings you into contact with the ecosystem of a temperate forest where plant life, sparkling mountain streams and breath-taking vistas are your classroom. Explore the wildlife, plant life, ecology, geology, and environmental concepts unique to the Smoky Mountains. Step into a world of breathtaking wonder and beauty!
 
Trip: August 5-11, 2012
Pre-trip meeting: July 25th
Post-trip meeting: August 15th

Program Fees: In addition to the cost of tuition and fees, students are responsible for a $550 travel program fee. The program fee includes class materials, student insurance, lodging and most meals. Student is responsible for their own transportation costs to and from Tremont, TN, remainder of meals and personal incidental costs.
