Construction Site Safety Certification Program ...... NEW!!
Because of the very nature of the work, construction workers face a higher risk of accidents and injury than the normal industrial employee. The problem is not that the hazards and risks are unknown, it is that they are very difficult to control in a constantly changing work environment.

PNC's Center for Occupational Safety and Health, in an alliance with the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF), is proud to introduce its Construction Site Safety Certificate Program. This program was developed in response to the challenges the construction industry faces in keeping its workers safe. PNC and CAF have worked to establish the benchmark in training for construction site safety efforts and presents a standardized training program that provides the philosophy, knowledge and techniques necessary to implement a safety-first construction site. Our Construction Site Safety Professionals will be well-trained in eliminating risk and unsafe conditions and acts that can contribute to an accident and be able to reduce/remove exposure to these conditions. A high degree of safety awareness and training assures that the safety factors involved in a job become an actual part of the job.

The DISCOVER Career Exploration Program

Some adults have found themselves in a position of needing to change careers.  The reasons for this may vary from person to person.  The Discover Career Exploration Program may help guide you with the decisions you need to make and give you a fresh perspective.   You may have lost your job, or you may be unhappy with your career and want to find a better fit for your personality.  Through inventories designed to place you in certain career fields that best suit your interests, abilities and values, you are placed in an area on the World of Work Map. This in turn leads you to investigate careers that fit your primary work task.

Perhaps you want or need to return to college to either begin, or complete a degree, or change your degree completely.  This program can give you valuable information about colleges, and the majors they offer. These majors are also linked to the careers that would be available through the course of studies.

To help you in any of these situations, a series of workshops is being offered to introduce you to the Discover Career Planning Program.  The workshops are free.  Please click here to see the time place and dates of these workshops.  You must register as the space is limited.
