About Global Youth Service Day
Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the
world
that celebrates a year-round effort to expand the impact
of the
youth service movement. The initiative launches new service organizations, policy changes, and sustainable service programs to create a culture of engaged youth. State Farm Companies Foundation is the presenting sponsor. More than 125 national partners, 75 lead agencies, and thousands of local partners throughout the
United States
organize campaigns, and international lead agencies coordinate campaigns in over 100 countries. In addition to grants, YSA provides project planning resources such as Planning Tool Kits, Service-Learning Curriculum Guides, and classroom posters.

Purdue University North Central's Day of Learning & Service is held
in conjunction with Global Youth Service Day in April each year. Global Youth Service Day is a day to come together and celebrate what our students are doing everyday to benefit the communities surrounding PNC.
2011's
Day of Learning & Service was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 and included poster presentations by students currently engaged in a service learning project as a part of their coursework, and those in student organizations engaged in on-going service to the community.
