- Assemble in Hilltop Gymnasium (2nd floor) of
ARC. Handicapped students should
show up at 6:30 near the right rear door of the
ARC main floor.
- Line up on Left or Right side of your row by
number order- Marshals will help check you in.
- Marshals will identify each of you who will
be the first person starting a new row.
- Your
row and number for lining up.
6:25 PM
- Registrar passes out honor cords. If you are entitled to wear one during the ceremony, you must be in your row and place at this time.
6:55 PM
- Marshals lead graduates
from Hilltop Gym to Arc Entrance
- Students on Left side of row exit the left door
and follow Marshal (Dr. Roper) while Students
on Right side of row exit right door and follow
Marshal (Dr. Swarts) to appropriate door in ARC.
Handicap Students Join Processional at Right Rear

7:00 PM
- Ceremony begins
- Marshals will lead you into ceremony and seat
you according to the plan shown
HERE. - Your number and side (L or R) shows
you will be seated
- During the ceremony, follow the lead of your
Marshals.
- Exit your seating row toward the outside
when your Marshal directs you to do so.
- After you receive your diploma and cross the
stage, Re-enter your row by going to THE CENTER
AISLE (a Marshal will be waiting for your to guide
you back to your seat).
Somewhere around 8:15 PM
The ceremony will be over and the RECESSIONAL begins. You exit - by linking up with a student from across the aisle and following the student Marshals out the door.
- Platform party exits first
- Faculty exits second, then the Marshals and students
- While the entrance is slow, the exit is fast
Post-Commencement Reception
Following the commencement exercises, a reception is held for graduates and their families at Sand Creek Country Club, 1001 Sand Creek Drive South, Chesterton, Indiana. This reception is sponsored by the Purdue North Central Alumni Association. All graduates are encouraged to attend.
Directions to Sand Creek Country Club from Valparaiso:
- Rt. 49 North (Chesterton/Valparaiso)
- Proceed North on Rt. 49 to Porter Avenue in Chesterton
- Turn right (East) on Porter Avenue
- Turn right into Sand Creek Country Club entrance
- Clubhouse is on the left side

The Purdue North Central Alumni Association and Grad Flowers are partnering to bring you top-quality flowers at the Purdue North Central Commencement.
High quality fresh-cut flowers will be available for purchase from guests, and also to graduates for their families. The flower kiosk, sponsored by the PNC Alumni Association, will be sold outside the main entrance until the end of the commencement ceremony. Pricing information can be found here.
