                                                                     September 21, 2005 - 7:00 p.m. - 2

In-Service Projects:

Mary Beth Mitchell had a conflict for the Grad School In-Service, so the club voted to change the date for this event to October 13, 2005 at 5:00 pm.  Camie and Dawn will do marketing for this in-service through PNC website.

Community Service Projects:

The Special Olympics event will be open to the entire campus for their participation.

The Psychology Club and the Social Work Club will combine their efforts for a community service project. The Social Work Club has a Christmas Tree in the Tech Bldg for items to be donated for the Pine Ridge project.  Camie will meet with Beth Rudnick to find out any specific needs of population at Pine Ridge community.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Dawn has made a collection box for the RSVP Project and filled it with items that this group needs, yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, fiberfill, any type of craft materials, etc.  When she receives approval, she will be placing the box in a prominent place to collect these items from our student body. Camie will make up fliers for promotion of this event.  Dawn will go to see Carol Connelly to get some media coverage of this event.

Camie will submit articles on individuals and clubs doing community service projects to Carol Wilson, PNC Voice newspaper.

Donation of goods from outside the PNC student body, will require individuals getting their own tax receipts for donated items.

Joanne reminded us that we could again participate in stuffing bags for the Chicago Marathon at Opportunity Enterprises on September 24, 2005, Saturday.  Get there at any time from 7:45 a.m. to noon.

Fundraisers:

We still need to come up with an idea for a fall fundraiser.

Annette wants a table set up on campus, possibly near cafeteria, to sell photograph albums in November.

Pat will investigate the possibility of having a photographer come on to campus and photograph couples/students as a fundraiser.

Guest Speaker:

Joanne met with M. Shurr of Campus Daycare and was assured that Dr. Scipes could bring his children there, while his wife spoke to several classes on campus in the future.

Date for this event is yet to be determined.  It is tentatively scheduled for a Wednesday, and Annette will write article for The Voice.

Open Forum:

Patricia will handle fliers for Graduate School in-service on October 13, 2005. A mass e-mail will be sent through Dean of Students’ office to the entire student body.

The new Portal Site (PNC website for students) will not post any information on the calendar unless there is a contact phone number provided.

Students may now post any type of announcements regarding activities, etc on the free bulletin boards in the each campus building (located near the stairwells).

When the new club T-shirts are received, the club members will pose for a group photo and it will be submitted with article to The Voice.

Joanne suggests a snappy tri-fold flier be made up for the Psychology Club as a P.R. tool, especially vital  for use in doing a call out next semester to Psi Chi Honor Society.

Jeanne will make a list of all Psychology Club meetings to be held this semester and e-mail to all club members.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeanne M. Sanders
