The Child with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder |
The presenter’s research findings related to the everyday functioning and dynamics of the relationship between the parent and the child with ADHD will be discussed. Greater knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by parents of children with ADHD are essential for healthcare professionals to develop appropriate, supportive and effective interventions in the treatment of families impacted by ADHD. It is expected that participants will have an increased awareness of the everyday challenges faced by parents of children with ADHD. In addition it is hoped that clinicians use this information to help develop treatment strategies that empower the parents to productively intervene and care for their child with ADHD. |
