Janice Englander Katz, Ph. D., HSPP

Dr. Katz earned her Ph.D. in psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. She has practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in Michigan City for 24 years, specializing in assessment and treatment of young children and their families. She founded and continues to serve as President of Imagination Station Child Development Center, a licensed educational child care center accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She has developed the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant program that serves as a model for many communities and authored the Mentorship training program for Infant Mental Health Professionals throughout Indiana. Dr. Katz is a frequent lecturer at the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children (IAEYC) and Indiana Association for Infant Toddler Mental Health Annual Conferences. She Co-Chairs the Public Policy Committee for IAEYC.

Building Social and Emotional Competence in Real Kids with R.E.A.L. K.I.D.S: Part II

Listen, respect others, take turns, cope, communicate and cooperate. Research consistently confirms that these basic skills are critical for young children to be successful learners and effective citizens. Participants will delve deeper into the principles of the R.E.A.L.K.I.D.S. Social Emotional Curriculum introduced at the 2008 PNC Early Childhood Conference, and learn applied strategies for implementing R.E.A.L.K.I.D.S. with real kids.
