Paul Chamness Miller

Dr. Paul Chamness Miller received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in Foreign Language Education with an emphasis in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language. He is currently an associate professor of secondary education at Purdue North Central and has been training modern language and ESL teachers for nearly a decade. He has published numerous articles and book chapters in this area and is currently co-authoring a textbook to train mainstream high school teachers work with English Language Learners for Sage Pubications.

Effective Approaches for Meeting the Needs of English Language Learners

This presentation will discuss issues surrounding English Language Learners in the classroom. Participants will leave this session with strategies for meeting their needs, in terms of both language and academic development.
