Since 2000, Deborah Chubb has been Executive Director of Imagination Station Early Learning Center, a nationally accredited, not-for-profit program in Michigan City. Along with overseeing the operation of Imagination Station, she works on man grant-funded projects developing and implementing pilot early childhood, professional development, child care quality improvement and early childhood mental health programs. She graduated from Indiana University, although most of her early education work was completed at National College of Education in Evanston, IL.  She also graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law and practiced law in Michigan City for seven years.

Developing Children's Connections to Nature

Attendees will learn how to retrieve the wonder that they experienced during their own childhood experiences in nature. We’ll discuss how those experiences helped them develop an inner core of calmness, a sense of creativity and problem-solving skills. We will find ways to integrate experiences in nature into modern early childhood education to prevent common behavioral issues in classroom settings.
