SAT Review in the Classroom
Be better prepared for the SAT. These classes will help you anticipate the types of questions you will see on the exam, give you tips on how to use time most efficiently and show you techniques for identifying wrong answers to improve your test score. These classes do not teach content; PNC’s classes focus on how best to approach a test such as this and give you guidance in the practical skills you need for the SAT.

The SAT Review for Math and Verbal/Written Sections: Seats in sections at specific high schools are reserved for that school’s students first. Remaining seats will be given to other students on a first come first served basis.

 

How To Study
Find the "A" student's secret and get prepared for this coming school year. Understand the easy way to take notes and tests. Learn how to read so you can easily remember the information; how to think creatively and critically. Improve your memory and time management skills to help you save precious time and effort. Floral Studio Fundamentals
Get ready to be stimulated and break out of the winter doldrums!  It's time to learn about and practice the basics of floral design. Discover the fundamentals of floral design theory, application, design shapes and steps of construction. Learn about tools, containers and the mechanics of floral design.  You will work with fresh flowers and foliage so bring your passion for creativity and design to add a splash of color to your world. Or better yet, see if a career in floral design is for you…all while creating your own exquisite floral masterpieces.

Discovering Digital Photography
This course will be held at PNC - Porter County.

Do you own a digital camera but don't have a clue as to how to use it? You are not alone! Many of us wonder what all those strange dials and buttons are for, or have pictures that just aren't quite right but don't know what the problem is. Let our visiting artist help you unravel the mystery of digital photography. Learn to understand and make friends with your camera; discover the proper method of holding and operating your digital camera. Understand how to analyze digital photographs to determine root causes and how to overcome them. Explore the fundamentals of composition, depth of field and exposure control. Discover how lighting can change the mood of your subject. These skills will add a whole new dimension to your photos. Be sure to bring your camera along!

Digital Darkroom
This course will be held at PNC - Porter County.

Learn the skills that are redefining photography today. PNC's visiting artist will help you create photos that get noticed! Once you have captured your subject learn how to take that image out of your camera's memory and manipulate it. This class uses Photoshop CS2 to do things like remove red-eye, change colors, and much, much more. Take your photo memories from good to GREAT!

"You're On the Air... How to Really Make it in Voice-Overs!"
Join us and learn about an exciting, new way to get around the competition and actually turn voice-overs into a thriving full or part-time business! in this course you will learn from an experienced broadcaster and professional voice-over specialist about the industry's opportunities, the structure of advertising, how to make a demo, the kinds of voices in demand, and most importantly - methods for finding work. You will be introduced to the voice-over business as a whole, talk about the numerous opportunities, the income potential, and the all-important demo and how to have it produced. You'll step up to the microphone to do some practice recording too! And best of all, hear the results!

Brush—Palette—Color
This course will be held at PNC - Porter County.
Packed with information and techniques, this painting class covers all you need to know to tackle the art of painting. You will receive extensive instruction in color theory, developing color schemes, and shading and composition that can be useful in many ways. Knowledge of drawing skills is helpful but not required.

Golf “Fore” Beginners
This Class is held at the Clubhouse in Michigan City.

Learn from our pro! Golf is a fun and relaxing way to get outside and enjoy the weather. This class will get you started. You will learn to swing both drivers and irons, how to avoid slicing and hooking, and proper stance. You’ll be on the course before you know it. Golfballs and clubs are provided, or you may bring your own. On rainy days, make-up sessions will be scheduled. The first class meets rain or shine. Class size is limited to 10 students, so don’t wait to register!

This testing is at the Westville Campus.
Did you know that you can test out of C&IT 107, Computer Literacy, and still receive 3 credits? If you already feel comfortable with your computer skills, talk to your advisor about taking this test and save yourself some time and money. It's a great way to get 3 credits.
