Goldstrom's Oh!, a welded aluminum tree, is whimsical and
utterly familiar. Since it was "planted" several years
ago (Millennia Nexus, 1999-2000), Oh!'s neighboring trees have
continued to grow, and a family of birds built a nest there this
past spring.
Goldstrom's
piece, Here and There (Odyssey 2001), still visible on the
highway, reflects the evolving architectural and industrial
landscape of the Midwest, Goldstrom's home. Goldstrom teaches
foundry at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and shows
her work in Chicago and other cities.
