Westville –The Purdue University North Central Department of Nursing is seeking continuing accreditation for its Nursing programs - associate of science and bachelor's of science degrees - through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC).

The Department of Nursing is engaged in an extensive self-study process that includes total program evaluation and an opportunity for continued program improvement. A team of five program evaluators were scheduled to be on campus on Oct. 19 to 21 to meet with PNC administration and the Department of Nursing administration, faculty, staff, students and community partners.

NLNAC provides the opportunity for program constituents to submit in writing comments concerning an educational program's qualifications for accreditation status. Written comments are also welcome and should be submitted directly to: Dr. Sharon Tanner, chief executive officer, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 500, Atlanta, GA. 30326 or email to sjtanner@nlnac.org. All written comments should arrive at NLNAC by Oct. 13.

There will be a public meeting Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m. in the PNC Library-Student-Faculty Building Assembly Hall, Room 002. The public is invited to attend this meeting and comment about the program.
