Purdue North Central Welcomes New Faculty Members
WESTVILLE– Purdue University North Central welcomes new faculty members for the 2007 – 2008 academic year. They are:
Roy R. Fowles, associate professor of Social Work. He earned his Ph.D. in Speech Communication (Human Communication Studies) from the University of Denver at Denver and holds a master’s degree from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. He formerly served as the executive director of the Missouri Girls Town Foundation, Inc., in Kingdom City, Mo.
David R. Hammontree, assistant professor of English Composition and Rhetoric.
Hammontree is a Ph.D. candidate in English Studies at Illinois State University; He also holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois as well as a master’s degree from Illinois State University.
He most recently held a position at Illinois State University and was a lecturer in English at Eureka College in Eureka, Ill.
Susitha Karunaratne, continuing lecturer of Mathematics/Statistics. He has a master’s degree in Statistics from Texas Tech University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Columbo at Columbo, Sri Lanka.
He was formerly taught Texas Tech University.
Kenneth R. Kincaid, assistant professor of History. He holds a Ph.D. in Modern Latin American History from the University of Kansas and has a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.
Kincaid most recently held a teaching position at the University of Kansas.
Amanda Laudig, visiting assistant professor of English Composition. She earned a Ph.D. in English Studies
from Illinois State University. She also earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University.
Vanessa S. Quinn, assistant professor of Biology. A recipient of a Ph.D. in Life Science from Indiana State University, she also holds a master’s degree from Northern Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree from the
University of Wisconsin.
Most recently, she was a faculty member at Wabash College in Crawfordsville.
Christabel L. Rogalin – assistant professor of Sociology. Rogalin expects to earn a Ph.D. in Sociology
from the University of Iowa. She also earned her master’s degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, where she served as an instructor.
Angela Schooley, visiting assistant professor of Nursing. She earned a master’s degree with a specialization in Parent - Child Nursing from Valparaiso University, as well as her bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University.
Schooley has been an instructor since 2005 at Ivy Tech Community College and a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Also, a number of educators who served PNC as limited-term lecturers have been named to full-time faculty positions. They are:
Mitchell S. Alix, assistant professor of Biology
Karen J. Klosinski-Schooley, visiting assistant professor of Nursing
Jerome M. Mostek, continuing lecturer of Mathematics/Statistics/Physics
Nipul Patel, assistant professor of Computer & Information Technology
Suzanne Pellar, assistant professor of Nursing
Richard Panton, continuing lecturer of Business.
