PNC Offers Viewing of the Night Sky
WESTVILLE – Purdue University North Central will host a viewing of the night sky on Friday, May 1 at 8:30 p.m. Observation through the telescope will be at the far south end of the PNC campus. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of cloudy or inclement weather, the viewing will be Saturday, May 2 at 8:30 p.m.
The public is invited to take a close-up look at some early summer constellations, see the Moon and Saturn through our 10- and 8-inch telescopes and ask astronomy questions.
Dr. Aaron Warren, PNC assistant professor of Physics, will be on hand to answer astronomy-related questions and provide descriptions of the objects being observed to make this an interactive learning experience suitable for all ages and interests. Participants are asked to park in PNC lot 7 and walk to the viewing area near the North Central Veterinary Center.
If the weather looks questionable during the afternoon of May 1, please call Warren at 219-785-5200, ext. 5659 or email awarren@pnc.edu to get status updates.
Persons with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Warren .
