PNC Students Present Marlowe's “Tamburlaine, Part 1”

Westville – Purdue University North Central Shakespeare students, theatre students and the English Club will present an informal and entirely-for-fun read-through of Christopher Marlowe's epic, “Tamburlaine,
Part 1.”

According to Dr. Paul Hecht, assistant professor of English, “This will include the speeches that wowed Elizabethan audiences and put Shakespeare's acting company on the map. Participants will sight-read a part and feel the power of Marlowe's thundering blank verse line. It's a play where a good speech, with a sword backing it up, just might be able to conquer the world.”
