PNC and Ivy Tech – South Bend Offer Bachelor’s Degree Classes
WESTVILLE – Purdue University North Central and Ivy Tech Community College - North Central are now offering bachelor’s degree classes at the South Bend Ivy Tech campus so that Ivy Tech associate degree students and graduates may begin working toward a PNC bachelor’s degree.
This comes as a result of a recently signed statewide articulation agreement between PNC and Ivy Tech Community College which allows students earning Ivy Tech Community College associate degrees in designated programs to seamlessly transfer into PNC bachelor’s degree programs.
An agreement between PNC and Ivy Tech-North Central brings selected PNC bachelor’s degree classes directly to the South Bend campus so that Ivy Tech students and alumni can continue to study in familiar classrooms on the South Bend campus.
The classes offered this fall semester are:
COM 324 – Introduction to Organizational Communication, meeting Fridays from 9 to 11:45 a.m. The class is taught by Professor Craig Parmley
SOC 310 – Racial & Ethnic Diversity, meeting Fridays from 1 to 3:45 p.m. The class is taught by Professor Milan Andrejevich. This class is also offered at the Ivy Tech Elkhart and Warsaw campus via two-way video.
These classes will meet weekly from Aug. 25 through to Dec. 15. Classes will not meet the Friday of Thanksgiving Week. Current PNC students may also enroll in these classes.
Ivy Tech alumni and current students considering completing their bachelor’s degrees through PNC must apply for admission to PNC. Application packets are available at the Ivy Tech - South Bend campus Student Affairs Office. Completed applications may be mailed directly to Purdue North Central, Attn. Sue Wilson, 1401 S. U.S. 421, Westville, IN 46391.
Qualified students will receive a letter of admission from PNC and will also receive information about the academic advising process. PNC academic advisors will maintain ongoing office hours at Ivy Tech - South Bend. The academic advisor will also guide the student through the registration process.
Students may apply for financial aid and use the resources of the PNC Financial Aid office. The PNC and Ivy Tech Community College articulation agreement provides for three scholarships of $1,000 each available to qualifying Ivy Tech students entering the PNC program offered at Ivy Tech-South Bend.
Further information may be obtained by contacting Sue Wilson, PNC associate director of Admissions, at swilson@pnc.edu, or800-872-1231, ext. 5236
