PNC Strategic Plan Working Group Invites Public to Meeting
WESTVILLE – Purdue University North Central, as part of Purdue University, has begun its strategic planning process to create a campus “road map” for the next five years, from 2008-09 through 2012-2013. A Strategic Plan Steering Committee has been appointed and eight working groups have been assigned to look at various areas of interest.
The Globalization working group will host a public meeting Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m., in Library-Student-Faculty Building Assembly Hall, Room 02. The public is invited, including educators, business owners, community and political leaders and concerned citizens.
Each working group is comprised of faculty, staff and students. Each group is to develop white papers describing objectives, strategies/action steps and funding requirements and courses necessary to meet the needs of the area they are reviewing. The papers will be due in February and will subsequently be incorporated into the final strategic plan developed for PNC.
The Globalization working group is chaired by Dr. Rex Morrow, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. The other working groups are:
The Student Experience
Large Scale Research & Infrastructure
Economic Development
Quality of Life in the Workplace
Campus Design
Synergies between Science/Engineering/Liberal Arts/Social Sciences
Attracting New Students to Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM) Careers.
