Westville – Purdue University North Central student organization, Circle K, will host its charter celebration on Sept. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. in Library-Student-Faculty Building Room 144. Cake and punch will be served.
Circle K members are celebrating their recently achievement of being internationally chartered by Circle K International. At the event PNC student members will receive their Circle K membership pins and the club will be presented with hits Circle K club banner.
The PNC Circle K is now part of the overall Circle K collegiate system which includes about 500 clubs in 17 countries. The PNC club is sponsored by the La Porte and Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis clubs.
Club President Katie Hines helped create the club in 2010 and worked diligently to help it earn charter status. Club members have helped the sponsoring Kiwanis clubs by volunteering on Kiwanis One Day. A number of Circle K members volunteered when the American Veterans Traveling Tribute was on campus in July. The club also had its first fund-raiser during the recent Purdue Pride activities on campus. Club members look forward to establishing their presence as volunteers on campus and in the community.
