PNC Advisor Earns Graduate Certificate
WESTVILLE – Purdue University North Central academic advisor Barbara Austin has earned a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
The Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising, developed in partnership with the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), is an graduate program for professionals in the advising field. The program focuses on academic advising theories and skills as well as a variety of other concepts including career development, multicultural advising, student development, and learning principles.
The National Academic Advising Association Executive Office has been housed at Kansas State University since 1991. NACADA has more than 7,900 members internationally. Its primary goal is advancing the field of academic advising, while providing professional development to professionals with an interest in or responsibility for academic advising at higher education institutions.
Austin earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University.
