George Asteriadis Appointed PNC Associate Vice Chancellor
WESTVILLE – Dr. George Asteriadis has been named to the newly created position of associate vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at Purdue University North Central.
“As Assistant Vice Chancellor, Dr. Asteriadis has been very effective as a liaison to various Purdue University offices in West Lafayette in promoting the completion of our articulation agreements with two-year colleges, assisting in the re-engineering of our organizational structure and in other special projects. His effective management of these and other responsibilities have been a great asset to PNC,” said Dr. James Pula, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs.
His responsibilities will include oversight of the PNC library, permanent management of the college and high school articulation programs, management and quality control of part-time faculty, providing oversight for academic scheduling and serving in the absence of the vice chancellor as manager of the Academic Affairs office and its functions.
"Dr. Asteriadis's breadth of understanding of academia in general and Purdue in particular, have been most valuable during the past year as we have undergone significant reorganization to better serve our students," added Pula, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. "He is an asset to Purdue North Central."
Asteriadis has served as assistant vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and also holds the title of professor of Biology. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University and joined PNC in 1971.
